La sidérurgie française a connu ces dernières années une hécatombe, avec des centaines de suppressions d'emplois, notamment à Fos-sur-Mer, Dunkerque ou encore à Gandrange et Florange, en Moselle. L’amendement prévoit donc une obligation d’information régulière sur les effectifs, leurs évolutions et les mesures de formation ou de reconversion, afin d’assurer un contrôle parlementaire efficace et d’intégrer pleinement la dimension sociale au projet industriel nationalisé.

La société nationalisée présente annuellement au Parlement un plan de maintien de l’emploi sidérurgique sur l’ensemble des sites concernés.
